NEWINGTON SKI CLUB MINUTES
December 15, 2016

Meeting was called to order by President Jon Putnam at 7:40pm.

Reminder to sign the book in the bar when ordering drinks.

Jon recapped last Thursday’s Wax and Tune clinic at Suburban Sports. Very informative. Suburban is still extending the special price for the full race tune on their new machine $100 to our members.

Secretary’s Report: Accepted.

Membership: Dan Petit reported 360 total members to date.1 new member signed up today. Last year there were 550 members by the end of the season. Last year’s list will be cross referenced and previous members will be contacted .The board will meet and adjust the budget as needed. Next Board meeting will be planned for January 19, 2017.

Bulk Tickets: John Hunter has some Okemo tickets for sale, Pam Bateman said we are still waiting to receive the Burke tickets. The club as has 2 Stowe tickets to sell as well as 3 Young Adult Killington tickets.

Monday Night Racing: Hill 5 still has green showing. Rain is expected for Sunday, if no racing there will be pre-registration 7-9pm with Pizza provided by the Mt. Southington. An E-blast Will send out. There is racing planned for December 26, 2016 and January 2, 2017.

Club Race Day: Glenn Johnson has arranged Magic Mountain for February 18, 2017.They have new snowmaking equipment. There will not be a bus for Club Race Day. Glenn is checking into lodging close to the mountain as they are having some bands playing that weekend. Ticket price will be~$59 which includes the race fee. Updates will be put on our website.

On Snow: March 2-4, 2017 at Loon Mountain, NH. The Loon planning excursion is postponed due to illness and other commitments that was scheduled this weekend..

Senior Olympics: February 14, 2017 at Ski Sundown

Sugarloaf Ski Trip : March 12, 2017-March 17, 2017, See John Hunter. Need to get payments before the end of the year.

Soup Stew and Chili Night: Thursday February 16, 2017. Steve is available from Skiers Unlimited to join us.

Christmas Party: Ted Rogala reported the party went well and the grab bag was fun.

NEW BUSINESS: Mountain Dew challenge is at Okemo this weekend.

Next Meeting: Social Meeting December 29, 2016 starts at 6:30pm – Bertucci’s- Newington. Frmom 6:30 to 7:00 there is special Happy Hour Prices. Next Business meeting is January 5, 2017 PAC.

50/50 Raffle: Dennis Tyburski won $8, meeting was adjourned at 8:05 pm.
