Call to Order: 7:30 pm by Vice President Mike Brown
Agenda: Presented by Mike Brown.
Secretary’s Report: presented by Eva Tyburski. Accepted. Seconded.
Treasurer’s Report: presented by Jack Fede: Accepted. Seconded. $1100 in Membership fees have come in so far this season.

Membership Report: presented by Mike Brown:
We are paying full price for membership this year. Membership has been declining in recent years. The average age of our membership is 59 years old. Even though we are declining in membership numbers we are still in the same range of payment required to belong to CSC. What CSC and NSC are offering to members has declined over the years which may be one reason for declining membership.

CSC Update: Presented by Mike Brown. Although Mike was unable to attend the last meeting of CSC there have been no substantial changes. As recorded in the last NSC minutes:

  • There will be no Snow Ball this year.
  • On Snow will be a two-day weekend event taking place March 4, 5, and 6. It will cost $378 per person which will include skiing, one dinner, racing, and lodging. Lift tickets alone will cost $118 for two days. Dinner alone will be $54. Racing alone will be $35. Lodging alone will be $ $197 per person for two nights. More information will be coming soon.
  • CSC will be having a Spring Party in June which will include a band at Falcon’s Field. CSC is also offering a trip to Chamonix, France from March 11-19, 2022. November 1st is the last day to apply.There are 10 openings which may be filled by now. $1799 includes lift ticket, lodging and two meals. For more information go to Metroskiclub.com. A passport is needed. Processing time is 18 weeks for a new passport.

Old Business: No old business.

New Business:
Membership Renewals- stickers were sent to renewing and new members. Membership forms are available this evening for those who would like to join or rejoin this evening.

November 7 will be the Pete Noyes Hike. This is the 15th-anniversary hike. It is a 2.5-mile round trip. The hike begins at 9 am but hikers can start at any time after that. Joan Noyes will be present at the hike from 9 am to 1 pm to provide beverages and conversation. The request is that there be no large tailgating parties. Bringing a picnic lunch and gathering in small groups is encouraged.

Online registration: The website is closer to online registration capability.

Club Day: Club Day will be Sunday, February 13th at Catamount. Danbury Club will be there as well.

Monday Night Racing Update:
Racing will happen on Mt. Southington. As noted last month, the procedure will be the same as last year. Bibs are assigned and will be kept for the entire season. They are to be returned at the end of the season. There will be a bar and patio outside and limited socializing.

Warren Miller Movie:
Friday, November 12th at the Bushnell. Tickets may be obtained through the Bushnell or through Suburban Sports at a slight discount.

Sundown Ski Swap: November 12-14.

Skiers Unlimited:
Dennis Tyburski gave an update. This season will not take place as they are looking for a sponsor for the group. The possibility of Mount Southington sponsoring the group is in the infant stage of discussion.

They are still looking for skiing instructors. Go to their website for more information.
