NEWINGTON SKI CLUB MINUTES
April 5, 2018
Indian Hill Country Club

22 were in attendance during the meeting.

Meeting was called to order by President Jon Putnam at 7:35pm.

Secretary’s Report: Last meetings minutes were distributed to read.

Membership: Marilyn Pearson reported membership income to date is – through Zap events.1 new member joined recently. The membership to date consists of 51 individuals, 52 Senior/Retirees, 71 family, 21 College and 50 Lifetimes.

Doreen Witkiewicz completed the NSC Roster in PDF version. The Roster will be sent out t all members. Thank you Doreen!

Tuckerman’s Weekend: A group of members are leaving tomorrow to hike and ski the ravine if conditions are not dangerous. Will also ski Wildcat. They rented a house in Jackson, New Hampshire.

Spring Banquet: Saturday May 5th. 6:30 Indian Hill Country Club. Theme is Cinco de Mayo. There will be flavored Margarita’s and Piñata’s. Food choices- Carne Asada, Chicken Mole and Fish with lime salsa. Cost is $30 /person. See Marilyn Pearson to let her know you are planning to attend. Checks can be given or mailed to her. Awards and Racer rebates will be distributed. Come out and have fun!

Club Race Awards: John Hunter will pick up glassware with Newington Ski Club etched or printed the glass, will try to get a bunch to use for other events if the price is right.

On Snow: Ron Kapraszewski announced the CSC selection meeting for next years On Snow will be on May 5th at 12 noon at his house.

Monday Night Racing: Carol Sweeney reported that NSC men beat the MTL racers overall, but the MTL women racers beat NSC women due to the amount of women racers they have. We need more women racers!

Nastar Finals: Carol Sweeney won the Pauline’s Cup Trophy for the oldest female 1st place winner. The Okemo team came in 4th overall.

Officers for Next Year: We still need a President for 2108/2019 year! We have the other officer positions all set to be voted in. Jon will send out an Eblast asking again for a volunteer for the position. The position can be split for Co- Presidents. See Jon Putnam if you would like to volunteer for President of the club next year.

Monday Night Biking: Ron Kapraszewski NSC Bike Coordinator reported the first official ride is May 7th. Unofficial rides will start out of Talcott Plaza in Farmington on Monday’s in April.

New Business:

An Eblast will be sent out reminding members that Bulk tickets need to be returned by April 30th. If you have Mt. Snow returns, check with Shirley Thomassen as to how to get them to her.

Kayaking this summer – Jon Putnam is interested in putting together a kayak outing.

Raffle: $10 was won by Pam Bateman.

Next meeting: April 19- Bingo (Last regular meeting of the year)
