NEWINGTON SKI CLUB MINUTES
April 19, 2018

Indian Hill Country Club

34 were in attendance during the meeting.

Meeting was called to order by President Jon Putnam at 7:40pm.

Secretary’s Report: Last meetings minutes were distributed to read.

Treasurer’s Report: Report accepted

Membership: Marilyn Pearson reported there were no membership changes since the last report. . The membership to date consists of 245 registrations. Our overall membership was down which was expected. Zap Events has merged with another company called Sign me Up.

March of Dimes: April 29th, Registration is at 9:00, walk starts at 10. See Bruce Laroche or Joan Noyes to participate or to donate. NSC has budgeted a $100 donation.

Bulk Tickets: Must be returned by April 30th.

NSC Audit: Jack Fede will look over the accounting to be sure all is in order.

Spring Banquet: Saturday May 5th. 6:30 Indian Hill Country Club. Theme is Cinco de Mayo. There will be flavored Margarita’s and also Piñata’s. Food choices- Carne Asada, Chicken Mole and Fish with lime salsa. Cost is $30 /person. See Marilyn Pearson payment needs to be in by May 1st.. Awards and Racer rebates will be distributed. Come out and have fun!

On Snow: Ron Kapraszewski reported that the CSC selection meeting for next years On Snow will be on May 5th at 12 noon at his house.

Monday Night Racing: Send Carol Sweeney a self addressed, stamped envelope if you are unable to pick up your racer rebate at the banquet.

Monday Night Biking: Ron Kapraszewski NSC Bike Coordinator reported the first official ride is May 7th.at Tunxis Meade in Farmington. Unofficial rides will start out of Talcott Plaza in Farmington on Monday’s in April. The bike schedule is full. All rides are combined with MTL ski club.

Summer NSC Picnic: The date will be determined, likely July 11th or July 18 at Ron Kapraszewski’s.

NSC Golf Tournament:  August 12, 2018. Here are Indian Hill Country Club. Jon Putnam and Andrea Albert are organizing the tournament. They will reach out to our younger members about the event.

Tuckermans Trip: Jon Punam and Bruce Laroche gave a recap of the conditions and the weekend fun.

Golf League: Starts May 3rd.

Election of Officers for 2018/2019:  Jon opened up nominations from the floor. There were no nominations from the floor and a motion was made and accepted to close the nominations. NSC Secretary Lisa Day casted the vote for the new slate. Ted Rogala-President, John “Jack” Fede- Vice President, Carol Sweeney- Treasurer and Andrea Albert- Secretary. Appreciation was made to the past Officers and Board.

New Business:

Race in the Park:5/12/18 at Walnut Hill Park, New Britain. If can’t walk or run, donations are appreciated.

Kayak – Jon Putnam is interested in putting together a kayak outing.

Marilyn Pearson made a proposal to name the club race the Pete Noyes and Lily Hill race.

Contact Jon Putnam if you need an E-blast sent out about a NSC event.

Ski Club Roster: Email Doreen Witkeiwicz with any corrections.
