NEWINGTON SKI CLUB MINUTES
September 20, 2018
Indian Hill Country Club
Meeting called to order by President, Ted Rogala at 8:45 pm. Ted introduced the new officers, Jack Fede membership and Vice President, Andrea Albert, Secretary, Carol Sweeney, Treasure. Also introduced the Board members, Rusty Cushman, Ron Kapraszewski, Mike Brown, Marilyn Pearson, Jon Putnam. Ted also acknowledged the exceptionally large crowd we had at the meeting. Thank you all for joining us tonight! Ted also reminded everyone that the NSC meetings will be the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.
Secretary’s Report: (see website for report from last meeting in April)
Treasurer’s Report: Was accepted.
Bulk Tickets: Bulk tickets forms are due by October 1. Some resorts have not provided pricing information yet. Killington, Pico & Sugarbush will give vouchers this year instead of lift tickets. You will have to turn in the voucher for an RFID card. For Mt. Snow tickets need to be purchased online. The club will need to set up an account name and create a password for the club members to use when purchasing Mt. Snow tickets. When you arrive at ticket counter you are required to have you CSC Card, Photo ID and the barcode from your online order.
Race Night at Suburban Sports: September 29, 2018 4:00 – 8:00 pm
Boston Ski and Snowboard Expo: November 8-11, 2018 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston.
Pete Noyes Memorial Hike: November 10, 2018 at Talcott Mountain.
Snowball: November 17, 2018 at The Hartford Marriott, Windsor. Mike Brown is our Ambassador again this year. Ticket prices are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.
Warren Miller: November 17, 2018 at the Bushnell.
Open House: November 15, 2018 at Indian Hill Country Club.
Manchester Road Race: Thanksgiving day, November 22, 2018.
Monday Night Racing Pizza Night: December 17, 2018 at Mount Southington. Early registration and free Pizza !
Monday night racing begins on January 7, 2018 at Mount Southington. Arrive early to sign up and register, racing begins at 7:00 pm.
Christmas/Holiday Party will be January 17, 2019 at Indian Hill Country Club.
Kids Day: January 27, 2019 at Mount Southington. Free to all kids on CT Ski Council.
Soup, Stew & Chili night will be February 7, 2019 at Indian Hill Country Club.
Club Day: Date TBD. We are looking for an organizer. John Hunter said he would if we have it at Okemo.
CSC CT Senior Games: February 26, 2019 at Ski Sundown
On-Snow: March 1-3, 2019 at Mount Snow.
Sugarbush Trip: John Hunter organizing. More info to follow.
Miscellaneous: The club offers biking from Memorial Day to Labor Day. We had a great turn out this past summer. 78 people attending the final bike ride and picnic ! Our kayak trip in August went very well too. We had 26 people participate in the two hour long ride down the river, followed by a picnic at Jon Putnam’s home. The August Golf tournament at Indian Hill Country Club was a big success. The winners this year were: Deborah Rogala and Burke Wasseman.

Tonight’s 50/50 Raffle Winner: George Lopes $20 !
