CSC Update:
The Spring Picnic at Falcon Field on 06/24/22 will feature the group Eight to the Bar.
If a Snowball is held in 2023 it will be NSC’s turn to help in the planning. They will have a meeting on 1.23.23 to determine whether it will be held. We need a representative from NSC to attend the meeting.
Kids Day will be 1.4.23.
FAM trip: A drawing will be held to choose one person to attend the Council FAM trip in Whitefish, Montana.
ON Snow: They are still working on the details of the event.

Old Business:
Racing:
Racing began on December 19th. It has been well attended.
March 6th is the 50th Anniversary of Racing for NSC. Ron is in charge of Racing activities.
Registration will be available online until noon each Monday. The upstairs at the lodge is open for adults. There are special prices for both light beers and IPAs & a Pizza Truck is available.
Holiday Party: Thank you to Ted Rogala who was the host for the Holiday Party at J. Timothy’s on January 21, 2023. Thank you to the 42 members who attended.

New Business:
Soup, Stew, and Chili Night: Will be held at the Newington Fire Department. The proceeds will be donated to CT Big Brothers/Big Sisters-CTBigs.org. Play it Again Sports will donate proceeds from the sale of ski equipment brought to them for the purpose of donating to CTbigs.org. The date of the Soup, Stew, and Chili Night is still to be determined.

Non-skiing activities: Kayaking, biking, and hiking are planned activities for this year.

Bicycling T-shirts Flyers were handed out showing the bicycling t-shirts with the Newington Ski Club logo. Included are directions for ordering the shirts. Deadline for ordering is March 15th.
Proposal to support other organizations: Discussion took place and it was decided not to designate donations to LoF adaptive skiers organization activities. Donations will be given to Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization-Ctbigs.org. There is a Big Brothers/Big Sisters gala on February 25 at the Society Room in Hartford for those interested in attending. It was decided to include members of the organization in our activities e.g. hiking and picnicking.
