NEWINGTON SKI CLUB MINUTES
December 6, 2018
Indian Hill Country Club

Meeting called to order by President, Ted Rogala at 7:40 pm.

Secretary’s Report:  Accepted

Treasurer’s Report: Was given by Carol and accepted.

Membership:  Jack Fede reported that we have 263 members

Monday Night Racing Pizza Night:  Kick off sign up at Mt. Southington December 17, 2018, from 7:00-9:00 pm.  FREE PIZZA.  Racing begins on January 7, 2018, at Mount Southington.

State GS Race – Thursday, January 17 at Mount Southington.

Newington Ski Club Holiday Party – Thursday, January 17 at Indian Hill Country Club.  Price is $35 per person.

Cross Country Day at Maple Corner Farm in Massachusetts on January 19th, rain date January 26.  Contact Pam and/or Marilyn if you are interested.

Kids Day:  January 27, 2019, at Mount Southington.  Free to all kids on CT Ski Council.  Register by January 11.  Sponsoring adult required to be there.  Lessons from 2:30-4:30 followed by Pizza party.

Soup, Stew & Chili night will be February 7, 2019, at Indian Hill Country Club.

State Slalom Race is February 13 at Mount Southington.

Club Day:   It was suggested that we could have Club Day with Danbury Ski Club at Catamount on January 26 and split the cost, $300 for the course and lift ticket is $45.  Or Okemo on February 10.  They will close the course for one hour for an additional fee, you can make 2 runs.  The bulk ticket is $72 plus $12-$15 for racing.  A motion was made to vote on where to hold club day.  Results:  Okemo – 0      Catamount 9.

CSC CT Senior Games:  February 26, 2019, at Ski Sundown

On-Snow:  March 1-3, 2019 at Mount Snow.  The Mountaineer Lodge at Mt. Snow, 3 people in a unit is $390 for two nights and includes breakfast.

Sugarloaf Trip:    Dates are March 10 -19, 2019.  John reported 46 people signed up.

OLD NEWS:

Open House:  was originally scheduled for November 15, 2018, at Indian Hill Country Club from 6:00 to 9:00. Postponed due to snow and held on November 29.  Marilyn and Mike did a great job!  Thanks to everyone who helped out.  About 70 people attended.  We had good donated prizes.  Thanks, everyone !

Pete’s Hike:  Was held at Talcott Mountain on November 10.  It was a great day.  Started out raining, then by the time we were at the tower the sun came out, then it snowed for the tailgate party.  We had some yummy food and a great time was held by all !!

Snowball:  Was held November 17, 2018, at The Hartford Marriott, Windsor.  Mike Brown was our Ambassador.  The band was fabulous – Rum Runner.  Unfortunately, we did not have a suite.

Tonight’s 50/50 Raffle Winner:  Pam Bateman is the winner $ 11!
