NEWINGTON SKI CLUB MINUTES

Hill Country Club

Meeting called to order by President, Ted Rogala at 7:50 pm.

Secretary’s Report:  Andrea submitted the secretary’s report with a correction on the date of the State GS Race.  The correct date is January 16.  Minutes were then accepted.

Treasurer’s Report: Was given by Carol and accepted.

Membership:  Jack Fede reported that we have 338 members

Monday Night Racing Pizza Night:  Racing begins at Mt. Southington on January 7 at 7:00-9:00 pm.  For an additional $10 there is NAS racing that will run all night.  Come on down for racing and FREE PIZZA.

State GS Race – Thursday, January 16 at Mount Southington.

Newington Ski Club Christmas/Holiday Party – Thursday, January 17 at Indian Hill Country Club.  Price is $35 per person.

Cross Country Day at Maple Corner Farm in Massachusetts on January 19th, rain date January 26.  Contact Pam and/or Marilyn if you are interested.

Sessions Woods Hike January 20 beginning at 10 am.  Paul is arranging.

Club Day will be at Catamount on January 26.  We will split the $300 cost for the course with Danbury Ski Club.  The lift ticket is $45.

Kids Day:  January 27, 2019 at Mount Southington.  Free to all kids on CT Ski Council.  Register by January 11.  Sponsoring adult required to be there.  Lessons from 2:30-4:30 followed by Pizza party.

Soup, Stew & Chili night will be February 7, 2019 at Indian Hill Country Club.

State Slalom Race is February 13 at Mount Southington.

CSC CT Senior Games:  February 26, 2019 at Ski Sundown

On-Snow:  March 1-3, 2019 at Mount Snow.  The Mountaineer Lodge at Mt. Snow, 3 people in a unit is $390 for two nights and includes breakfast.  For additional information, see the CT Ski Council newsletter for lodging options.  The Grand Summit has a special price for CSC members, but you much call the hotel.

Sugarloaf Trip:    Dates are March 10 -19, 2019.  John reported 46 people signed up.

Ski Tickets available:  Pam has one Pico at $42, 4 Killington at $70 each.  Marilyn has one Stratton

Tonight’s 50/50 Raffle Winner:  Jim was our raffle winner for tonight with a pot of $11!   Jack was the winner of the goodie bag.
